1 month's life
One month, can seem long, agonizing, and painful for some people.... for others it may be a time of fun and enjoyment, and the time seems to fly... unfortunately, mine was neither.
During the past month, my sleeping hours were unreal, my meals came whenever they wanted, and sometimes when they didn't come, I would have to put up to the disco having started in my stomach. 24 hours a day just wasn't enough. Time wasn't going toooo fast, BUT IT WASN'T SLOW EITHER! Sometimes I wish I had more time, sometimes I wish the time were faster, what the hell....
Just 2 weeks ago, me and my group completed a project of building a model bridge using popsicle sticks (tongue depressors actually, but since everybody was mislead by our annoying lecturer to call them popsicle sticks, I'll just stick to that). The bridge was magnificent, it was a triple truss bridge, meaning there were 3 main suppports, which we haven't seen anyone use, yet, and our bridge of merely 870 grams would be able to withhold a static load onto the middle of more than 15 kilograms!!!
But well, what do I have to say, one of the qualifications for the bridge was for it to weigh lower than 600 grams...(screw you Mr.Goh, our lecturer. All bridges in previous semesters didn't have such a problem being overweight). 270 grams of weight to throw away wasn't a big deal... IF ONLY our bridge wasn't so strong that it was impossible to take it apart.
Just the last Sunday, we had a meeting between us and the designing company. After analysis (by totally wrecking and experimenting on our 'failed' product), we had come up with a new design (within a couple of hours..., or minutes maybe). From 1pm till 1am... we stayed at the school cafeteria, looking at 2 kinds of glue, one type of string, and BOXES of popsicle sticks..... (now I know why people go mad when left alone in a room). We spent 12 hours designing, cutting, sawing, glueing tying, speed drying (drying the glue), and eating.... (our dinner of course). 12 hours and we completed 60% of our 2nd bridge, how cool is that!?
Monday was another day looking at popsicle sticks and epoxy (the glue name), we spent the whole night completing the bridge, and finally, its almost done...
Sadly but surely, this wasn't the end of my assignments.... I have reports due this week, more essays due next week, and tests to come.... not including the exams in 3 week's time yet.
However, what awaits me is a Looong Fuuuun and Filling June ~ July Holiday!!
Thats what I look forward to... and also what keeps me going...
Sorry if the content was a bit weird... I was kinda tired and was somehow at a lost of words.... and sorry I couldn't provide you guys with pics of the bridge, might show you some of the new one though....
