Jobless, 1 Week
Job hunting isn't as easy as it sounds. It's more 'begging' and 'boasting' and 'psychological warfare' than it is 'hunting'.
I've been sending about 3 resumes per day, since Monday, up till today, to companies mostly in KK and Singapore. So in total, I've sent about 15 resumes this week.

If writing resumes and cover letters were anything easier, maybe I'd be sending 10 letters a day. But then again, if I sent 10 letters a day, I'd have sent 70 resumes to 70 companies by the end of the week and I just might make myself known nationwide as the "Job Spammer" instead....
But then again, it's not about spamming applications till you get a job. It's not like I studied 3 years getting a Bachelor's Degree in Technology to work behind Giant Supermarket's cash register?? Neither did I waste 45k and 3 years to earn as much as someone would without wasting 45k and 3 years.... I had to find... the right job.... yet, saying it is easier than getting things done.
For example.... I studied.... Computer Systems and Networking (or I.T. for those of you who like 'summing things up')
For every 500 jobs that get posted out there each day, maybe.... just maybe..... 50 of the jobs are Computer stuff.... out of the 50, 30 has got to do with Technology you never knew existed.... are OUT of your course of study (I.T. isn't as simple as you think), so you're left with 20 jobs which you know you could do SOMETHING if you get hired....
Then, say 10 jobs don't pay well; are a hell's-drive-out-of-town; or are just too bad-ass for you.... then of the remaining 10, 6 of the jobs would have a tag saying "3 years experience in related field" under the Requirements section in small print. That's something like saying "Come back when you're taller" to the kids who want to ride the Roller Coaster so badly at the theme park. It sucks for those who never get taller....
So out of the remaining FOUR, you apply. And it only takes one sentence for them to leave you hanging only false hopes..... it goes something like this:
"We regret to inform you that only shortlisted candidates will be notified"
Which means, you might wait.... a day.... a week.... a month.... for nothing to come.... =)
Apparently some jobs have a more graceful solution to this though.... like this one:
At least they are kind enough to tell you that, "If we do not contact you within a month, you're just not good enough for us. And don't bother us for the next whole year unless you get better at SOMETHING."
