Happy Chinese Rabbit New Year to Everyone!!

It's February, and it's that time of the year again~!! Chinese New Year ~ ^^

Unfortunately for me though, this year, I can't afford to buy new clothes and new stuff for myself, coz I gotta worry about getting my life right and finding a job at the moment. Sigh.

But I guess it's good to have a change in your wardrobe once in a while? So I'm filling them with formal work wear, slacks, and also a pair of leather shoes this time =)

Having said that, I'm sad to announce that I didn't manage to take any firework photos this year T_T reasons are because I got greedy when there were too many of them.... and couldn't choose which to take, so in the end I waited too long, and the sky looked like a colourful World War II sky. And now my house smells like a gunpowder factory, lol.

I did TRY though.... but tonight, I had a lot of FAILs.... for example:

Jellyfish~
Patience fail.

Yo, you should've been looking >>
Composition fail.

Since when were fireworks wavy??
Tripod shake fail + Too much smoke fail

This was the only.... nicer shot.... but too bad it's out of focus....
Focus fail

But seriously, this year's fireworks were 10 x TIMESsss MORE then last year's. Even the widest angle of my ultra wide angle was wide enough for only HALF of the view, like the two last pictures above....

My wishes for this New Year are:
  1. Find a good career;
  2. Improve myself both physically and mentally.
  3. "You mustn't be afraid to dream big."
**********

After having said so much, a Happy Chinese New Year to all of you out there, and along with this, I present to you a cute lovable photo by a talented photographer below:

Wilbur the Rabbit and Bo the.... Tiger.... =.="

Let us say Goodbye to the Tiger Year, see you in another 12 years, and welcome the New Rabbit Year~ And may the New Year bring New Experiences, Good Fortune and Prosperity to all of us~

Happy Belated Tiger Year!!

Every now and then, I forget about this blog of mine. This is one of those now and then's.... Seems I have once again found myself more busy in games and sleeping, rather than blogging. And right now, it's also one of those nights where insomnia strikes and I can't sleep again. It's 4 in the morning, and honestly speaking, I think my mind works best during midnight, coz it just can't stop spinning right now~!!!!

Well anyway, I guess it's also because of the last couple of weeks being pretty merry and noisy with the Chinese New Year right now. It's not that I've been out frequently or anything... (or wait... maybe I have been out quite frequently... never mind) Most of the time I was just sitting at home trying more new games and saving money. Hehehe

The Chinese New Year this year was a noisy one. 3 days before CNY, fireworks were ALREADY playing! I wasn't surprised at first...

But then the eve before CNY, things started getting a little craaaiiiizzie....

BOOM~~ BOOM~~ BANG~ BANG~~... and there was even the *Prrrar-prarprara-PrrarratttataTatt-tatataT* ones that were like 30 seconds long. Again... and again... and again...

I was thinking.... did the government lift the ban on fireworks or what??

*Kkkrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccckkkaakakakaka* were the only sound-sssSS I heard outside my house since 10pm onwards.... together with *BOOM BOOM*-sssSS as a kicker.

Or did the government just announce the 'end' of recession?? Cause I don't remember hearing such a news.... It seemed like everybody suddenly had all the money in the world to burn fireworks this year.

It's been a long time since I saw so many fireworks go off at once. The one like above are the ones that go *BBOMMMMMMmmmmm* ... ... and rocks your heart.

It definitely was a splendid view...

On the other note. My 'series' of photos for Valentine's Day basically went to the dogs ~.~
Reason for this is because I didn't have enough equipment, ideas.... AND motivation to do it. I only did a couple of photos, which didn't turn out very nice in my opinion. I guess I'll just save the ideas for next year ^^

Hope you guys still had a good "Gong Xi Fuck Cai" this CNY + Valentine's.

Btw, here's a photo I'd like to share. It's not mine, but I really salute the photographer who took this pic.

I seriously like this pic soOOoo much. Anyway, please don't steal it and give credit to the author if you wanna share it ^^

Drunk on CNY

If you ever thought that Chinese New Year was a time that everybody enjoyed beer and drinks till they drank themselves to the toilets, you bet!

I was looking through my CNY pics while I was in KL, and I realised that I haven't finished on my KL updates, so instead.... I decided I'll update you guys about them randomly instead.

Anyway, back on topic..... CNY really seemed merry this year, everybody was getting drunk, but this topic ain't about me of course.

This was my can of Shandy.... erm, well, it's a new brand of shandy still in 'testing' by Carlsberg... I guess that's why it's called 'New Taste' but whatever..... I was enjoying my shandy on CNY until I realised that this sucker was enjoying it too.

And if you thought shandy couldn't get anyone drunk, it sure did it to this little guy.

He kept wanting more and more until finally he was so drunk he fell into the can.

Just some random update, tata ^^

KL, KL.... Part II

Upon arriving in KL.... the only thing I saw was busy-ness. KL seemed to me everything but slow.

KLIA. Sorry for the 'lop-sided' photo, I was in a hurry, haha.

Thanks to my mom's training session which she was already running late to attend, we didn't have much time to look around in KLIA. Instead, right after the 2 1/2 hour flight over the South China Sea, all I found myself doing was walking 3-meter per second footsteps towards the baggage re-claim department.

Even with such speed, the enormous space in KLIA made us take more than 10 minutes to find it.....

Then we had to board the RM35 KLIA Express, which was a train that brought you all the way to town, KL Sentral in about 35 minutes. Well, I guess it beats getting on a taxi that'll charge you a bomb just to get out of the airport.

Then as if to confirm my initial thoughts....... was KL Sentral. With people bustling about with either no sense of direction, with faces that scowled at their very own watches.... Imagine a mini airport, and a stock market, TA-DA! You get KL Sentral!

KL Sentral. Didn't have time to take a better image because of the hurry..... and the crowd.

I was just wondering how much more busy things could get, and then I saw it. LRTs.

Yes.... the machines that open their mechanical doors for only 10 seconds, and only sounds twice before slamming them shut and not giving a damn if it chopped off one of your hands.... Fast and efficient they are.... but I guess not something I'd like to get on when there's thousands of people crowding to get on the same thing......

Taken during one of the times with less people....
I wouldn't even have space to take out my camera if it was crowded.

Finally....... after coming down the plane, boarding two trains which stopped at over 15 stations, and a short RM3.50 taxi ride, I arrived at my destination for the day. My friend Sam's apartment.

Surprisingly.... I was expecting the word "Apartment" to be more...... non-condominium like..... But it turns out that the condominiums were doing far better and the "Apartment" turned out to be some 22 storey building which looked something like this

in the morning.

I bet you can't find apartments like this in 'Kampung Kinabalu'

However, the good thing about being on a 22 storey building is..... you get to see views like this too

Morning

Evening (7:30pm or so....)

Night

**********************************

Waking up the next day, me, Sam and Futt were headed off to Sunway, to do some shopping ^^

And JUST as I was about to think KL was quite far better off with their transport facilities and network system.... I ended up sitting on a bus that will sacrifice the time of it's passengers for it's own profit.

The "patient" ticket attendant waiting for more passengers to board.....

While waiting, I noticed the secret to our everyday favourite "Ba Kua" BBQed pork!

The sand from the road, the smoke from the cars, the dust from the fan, and all the natural 'ajinomoto' adds up....... to the tasty piece of meat that we can't hold ourselves back from.

Looks like the food in KL isn't any less poluted than the well knowned Satay stalls in our KK, haha.

After a 1 and a half hour of sitting in 2 buses....... we arrived, at Sunway Pyramid.

I can't deny that so far, the designs and architectures of all their shopping malls seem to be very interesting.

You have to give credit to their decorations too...... they really took an effort just to make the place nice for Chinese New Year..... unlike some places........

The ever so popular Ice skating ring........ (though I don't see the point of going around in circles of 200 meter squared of space).

Moss, Sam, with Futt M.I.A (Due to him not bringing a cellphone along)

After shopping for nearly 4 hours..... I gave up......

KL shopping complexes are SooOOOOOoo big (relative to KK ones) that you really learn what it is to "Shop till you Drop"! Just take ANY of the major shopping complexes in KL, and OneBorneo can go into the bottom of your "To Go To Shopping Complex" list. Despite all the hype about OneBorneo being so and so........ if you've been to KL, it's nothing compared to any of KL's.

Another good thing about the shopping malls are that they never seem to run out of variety and interesting stuff.

I don't know who came up with this idea, and I have no idea how they did it,
but it certainly looks interesting

KL, KL.... Part I

**This trip update shall be divided into i-don't-know-how-many parts, because I decided to make it into mane small parts instead of one LOOOOOONG post, slowly feed you guys, wahahaha. So..... just read and wait, XP**

The last time I had a chance to come to the West M'sia's was almost 6 years ago, on a 3 day 2 night trip to pay our last respects to my now belated grandmom. We didn't get to see much of course, and we only managed to travel around Malacca.

But thanks to certain opportunities and good waves of luck, this Chinese 牛 Year, I managed to get a chance to go to Kuala Lumpur, and even had a few days in Malacca to have a look see.

------------------------------------

Well, to start off, it isn't often students like us manage to hitch a ride on MAS airlines, haha. But I have to say they really actually DO charge pretty cheap! Considering the service they provide and their reliability.

Another advantage to taking MAS is...... You get to experience the newly completed and cool looking KKIA!!

\
The KKIA Departure Hall, Before departure.....

They even added the cool "travellators" that allow you to walk at a Superhuman pace

They really managed to make it look like KLIA.
(But that shouldn't be surprising considering it's the same people who designed the two airports)

Not many pics on the airports, coz it'll be better....... if you see it for yourself, hahaha.

Anyway, getting on the plane, you're greeted by the Batik clothed air-hostess and colourful seats that AirAsia didn't have.

And the BEST PART is......... you get........

FREE FOOD!!!

And after having a meal to stuff myself..... all you have to do is sit back, and enjoy the view.....

Err......... I think that's all for now, ran out of time to update, ehehe.

Will be back with more.
